"It's a performance that's at once subtle and explosive — one that lingers long after the credits roll.

“At its core, A LIVING FIRE questions the powerlessness of fear—how, in trying to protect someone from losing themselves, we might unintentionally push them further into madness.”

A wider look at Eric's work across other films and projects.

Eric Spektor

DIRECTOR · STORYTELLER · ACTOR

Eric Spektor is a Ukrainian director, writer, and actor whose psychological dramas explore the boundaries of identity, personal truth, and the often overlooked complexities of the human experience. Drawn to stories that challenge perspective, Eric approaches filmmaking without the constraints of a fixed genre or aesthetic, allowing each project to develop a language of its own.

At the center of his work is the belief that style should serve the story, rather than define it. Not every film needs to be experimental, and not every film needs to follow a traditional narrative. Eric approaches each project as a fresh canvas, searching for the visual, emotional, and narrative form that feels most truthful to what the film is trying to express. While his work may shift in style from one project to the next, personal truth remains the thread connecting it.

In 2026, Eric is preparing A LIVING FIRE (15 min) for its festival run. The psychological drama further shaped his approach to storytelling, bringing together art and personal truth to explore internal experience through a distinct visual and emotional perspective.

Rather than developing a signature style built around a single genre or form, Eric continues to explore what a film can become when its identity is allowed to emerge from the story itself. His work is connected not by how it looks, but by the honesty behind it—each film carrying something personal while existing entirely on its own.

Alongside his work as a filmmaker, Eric is pursuing acting and training at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, expanding his understanding of character and performance both in front of and behind the camera.

Eric is currently developing AURA, an upcoming short film written and directed by him, while also preparing to assistant direct a high-budget short film. Across directing, writing, and acting, he continues to approach each new project as a fresh canvas, following wherever the work calls for next.
